About the role
The school is seeking a qualified Teacher of Economics and Business Studies to deliver a balanced, differentiated curriculum for secondary students. You will support student progress, act as a form tutor, and contribute to raising attainment across the academy.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver lessons, develop resources and syllabuses aligned with the National Curriculum (KS3 & KS4).
- Contribute to departmental and strategic planning, including curriculum development.
- Engage in staff development and performance management processes.
- Maintain quality assurance through monitoring and evaluation of the subject area.
- Manage student records and track progress.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and external agencies.
- Provide pastoral support as a form tutor.
- Ensure a high‑quality learning experience for all students.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant undergraduate degree.
- Successful teaching experience at secondary level, preferably in multi‑ethnic urban schools.
- Understanding of effective teaching and learning theory and practice.
- Knowledge of National Curriculum requirements for KS3 and KS4.
- Strong communication, time‑management and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with staff.
Required skills
- ICT proficiency, including innovative use of interactive white boards.
