Teacher of Food Technology

About the role

The Heathland School is seeking a qualified Teacher of Food Technology to join its successful Design Technology department from September 2026. You will deliver the GCSE Food Technology curriculum using the AQA specification to students aged 11‑16.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess Food Technology lessons in line with the AQA GCSE specification.
• Contribute to the development of the Design Technology department and collaborate with fellow staff.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and support their achievement.
• Participate in departmental meetings, whole‑school events and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with the right to teach Food Technology at secondary level.
• Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and child protection screening.
• Ability to provide two referees and a supporting statement as part of the application.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Food Technology curriculum (AQA specification).
