About the role
The Team Manager will provide operational leadership for a dedicated Adult Social Care team supporting neurodiverse adults across Staffordshire. You will ensure high‑quality, person‑centred services, safeguard vulnerable adults and drive continuous improvement within a newly established, county‑wide team.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of Social Workers and Intensive Support Workers.
- Promote strengths‑based, person‑centred practice throughout the service.
- Provide reflective supervision, coaching and professional support to staff.
- Oversee safeguarding enquiries and manage complex casework.
- Monitor performance, quality standards and statutory responsibilities.
- Foster partnership working with health colleagues, providers, carers and voluntary organisations.
- Contribute to service development, workforce planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure effective use of resources while maintaining excellent outcomes for citizens.
Required profile
- A recognised Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience within Adult Social Care, including managing or supervising staff.
- Sound knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding Adults procedures and related legislation.
- Experience handling complex cases and managing risk.
- Strong leadership, communication and decision‑making skills.
- Commitment to equality, inclusion and positive outcomes for adults and carers.
