Technical Architect

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Architect to join our high‑performing technology team in Newcastle. The role combines hands‑on engineering with strategic architecture, delivering enterprise‑scale solutions across complex transformation programmes. You will work in a hybrid model, spending three days per week on site.

Key responsibilities

• Define and review technical architecture requirements for large‑scale enterprise solutions.
• Translate business and technical requirements into clear, documented architectural designs.
• Collaborate with software delivery and DevOps teams to shape infrastructure, security, networking and system design.
• Support governance activities and present solutions to senior stakeholders.
• Ensure solutions meet functional and non‑functional requirements and stay aligned with emerging technologies.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring engineers and junior team members.

Required profile

• 5+ years of commercial experience in software engineering, DevOps or technical architecture.
• Proven experience in enterprise‑scale technology environments.
• Strong understanding of architectural design principles, patterns and the distinction between functional and non‑functional requirements.
• Excellent communication skills for both technical and business audiences.
• Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC) and a minimum of five years UK address history.
