Telesales & Counter Sales Representative

About the role

Based at Lawsons' Guildford branch, you will drive revenue by generating new business over the phone and supporting in‑store sales. You will handle both outbound prospecting and inbound enquiries, process orders accurately and work closely with the branch team to deliver excellent customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Make proactive outbound calls to generate sales and qualify leads.
• Answer inbound telesales and quotation enquiries promptly and professionally.
• Achieve individual and branch sales targets while improving gross margin.
• Process orders using company systems and ensure timely hand‑over to the branch for fulfilment.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with trade and retail customers, offering product advice and promoting add‑on items.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and follow up on leads and quotations.
• Provide market feedback on customer preferences and competitor activity.
• Support the branch team during peak periods and assist with counter sales when required.

Required profile

• Previous telesales or phone‑based sales experience, preferably in a builders merchants or trade supply environment.
• Positive, friendly attitude with strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Target‑driven, organised and able to manage time effectively.
• Attention to detail and accurate order‑processing capability.
• Willingness to represent Lawsons’ culture, values and professionalism at all times.

• Salary range £31,000 – £33,000 per year, dependent on experience.
