About the role
Leonardo UK is seeking a Trainer in Electronic Warfare (EW) and Radar to join the Leonardo Academy in Lincoln. You will design, develop and deliver specialised training for UK and international defence customers, helping to shape the next generation of EW professionals.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and deliver high‑quality training packages and courseware for complex EW and radar systems.
- Incorporate Electronic Support Measures (ESM), Electronic Counter‑Measures (ECM) and other EW concepts into training solutions.
- Support customers by creating bespoke learning solutions aligned with operational requirements.
- Liaise with subject‑matter experts and engineers to translate technical content into effective instruction.
- Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to ensure relevant and effective programmes.
- Deliver training primarily at UK sites with regular travel overseas as required.
Required profile
- Strong background in EW and radar, with practical experience operating or supporting systems in a defence environment.
- Deep understanding of EW principles (Electronic Support, Attack, Protection) and radar theory (waveforms, signal behaviour, propagation, clutter, system interpretation).
- Technical background in electronics, RF systems or communications engineering.
- Experience in training development, course design and delivery using modern instructional techniques.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence presenting to diverse audiences.
