Water/Wastewater Process Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an Associate Water or Wastewater Engineer to lead the design and delivery of complex water and wastewater projects for our clients in New Zealand. The role sits within a multidisciplinary team and focuses on innovative, sustainable solutions from feasibility through to commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Lead water or wastewater projects from concept, feasibility and design to implementation and commissioning, managing scope, budget, schedule and resources.
• Act as the primary client contact, building trusted relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
• Develop engineering solutions that meet client objectives, regulatory requirements and industry standards, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends and regulatory changes to continuously improve project outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability growth.

Required profile

• 12–15 years of experience in water or wastewater treatment, with strong expertise in process design and modelling.
• Advanced degree in Chemical, Process, Wastewater, Civil, Environmental Engineering or related discipline; professional accreditation and project management certification are highly desirable.
• Proven track record of winning and delivering projects, managing budgets and timelines.
• Deep understanding of relevant industry regulations and an established client network in the water sector.
• Self‑driven, personable and client‑focused attitude.
