1:1 Phonics Teaching Assistant – Northfield (Full‑time)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to deliver phonics support to a pupil in a primary school in Northfield. This full‑time, long‑term position starts as soon as possible and offers the chance to make a tangible impact on a child’s literacy journey.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one phonics intervention tailored to the pupil’s needs.
• Plan and deliver engaging phonics sessions to develop reading, writing and communication skills.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to align strategies and monitor progress.
• Maintain accurate records of the pupil’s development and share feedback with the teaching team.
• Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary setting.
• Understanding of phonics programmes such as Read Write Inc. or Little Wandle.
• Patient, nurturing and proactive attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) and the right to work in the UK.
