Account Handler – Insurance Brokerage

About the role

An established insurance broker in Manchester is looking for a motivated Account Handler to support the New Business Executive and Client Directors. You will ensure smooth processing of client documentation, manage communications, and help the team meet targets while complying with FCA regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide prompt, professional customer service via email, phone and letters.
• Prepare and issue quotations, renewal reports, presentations and other client documentation.
• Maintain accurate electronic client files and risk information in internal systems.
• Complete onboarding checks and process new business, renewals, mid‑term adjustments and insurer liaison.
• Issue insurance documents within deadlines, manage debt collection, payments, refunds and resolve account queries.
• Use task‑management tools to track work and complete required training on time.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Teams.
• Familiarity with FCA regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, team‑oriented with strong organisational abilities.
• Experience in client service or support within insurance is preferred.
