Actuarial Pensions Consultant – Birmingham

About the role

WTW is seeking a Pension Actuarial Consultant to join its UK Defined Benefit pensions team in Birmingham. You will work with a diverse client base on trustee and corporate assignments, delivering valuations, accounting advice and strategic pension solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice on regular valuations, accounting, PPF levies, individual calculations and factor reviews.
• Contribute to integrated risk management, liability management, GMP equalisation, plan design strategy and asset‑liability modelling.
• Support mergers and acquisitions and journey‑planning projects for clients.
• Mentor junior colleagues, delegating tasks and overseeing their development.
• Manage projects, coordinate with clients and ensure high‑quality deliverables.

Required profile

• Experience working as a pension actuary on core UK defined benefit pensions.
• IFoA nearly‑qualified, newly qualified or fully qualified actuary.
• Strong client‑service orientation with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proven delegation skills and a desire to coach junior team members.
• Accountability, self‑starter attitude and ability to see the broader business context.
