Advanced Practitioner – Family Help Social Worker (Temporary)

About the role
Solihull Council is expanding its Family Help teams and seeks qualified Advanced Practitioners to deliver high‑quality support for children and families. This temporary assignment lasts 3‑4 months and is paid at £33.30 per hour.
Key responsibilities
- Work on a rotating 8‑week on‑call schedule, with one office day per week when not on duty.
- Support children requiring assessments, Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) plans.
- Maintain a low caseload of 16‑20 children, ensuring thorough, timely interventions.
- Collaborate with Social Workers, Family Support Workers, and Team Managers to develop service improvements.
Required profile
- Qualified Social Worker, fully registered with Social Work England.
- Minimum three years post‑qualification experience in a local authority setting.
- Strong background in children’s social care, including CIN and CP work.
- Proven ability to deliver direct, meaningful work with families.
