Air Export Operator – Manchester

About the role

We are looking for an Air Export Operator to join our Manchester team within a well‑established international freight forwarder. You will manage the full lifecycle of air export shipments, ensuring documentation, customs compliance and customer expectations are met.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end‑to‑end air export shipments from booking to departure.
• Prepare and process export documents such as MAWBs, HAWBs, commercial invoices, packing lists and shipping instructions.
• Complete and submit export customs entries in line with HMRC regulations.
• Liaise with airlines, handling agents, overseas offices, hauliers and customers to guarantee smooth freight movement.
• Arrange collections, consolidations and final dispatch of export cargo.
• Monitor shipment progress, provide proactive updates and resolve operational issues.
• Maintain accurate job files and records using freight forwarding systems.
• Ensure compliance with airline security procedures, customs regulations and company standards.
• Support the wider operations team with general administration when required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in air export freight forwarding is desirable.
• Knowledge of air export documentation and customs procedures.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
• Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to handle multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Proactive, detail‑oriented and able to work accurately in a fast‑paced environment.
