Air Freight Operator

About the role

We are recruiting an Air Freight Operator for a leading logistics provider in Manchester. The role focuses on managing daily international air freight movements, handling both import and export shipments, and delivering high‑quality service to a global client base.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate end‑to‑end air freight bookings, documentation and customs clearances for imports and exports.
• Serve as the primary client contact, providing tracking updates, airline status reports and transport quotes.
• Liaise with airlines, handling agents and domestic couriers to ensure secure, timely cargo transit.
• Maintain compliance with aviation security regulations, HMRC protocols and standard customs procedures.

Required profile

• 1–2 years of proven experience in air freight forwarding, handling imports, exports or both.
• Strong knowledge of air waybills, customs documentation and airline schedules.
• Ability to work from the client’s Manchester office.

Required skills

• CargoWise freight management software.
