Airfreight Operations Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Airfreight Operations Specialist to manage end‑to‑end air freight shipments for our client in the Heathrow area. The role offers full ownership of shipments, customers and daily workload, allowing you to work independently in a fully office‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage airfreight shipments from start to finish, handling both imports and exports.
• Prepare and send quotations, handle invoicing and all relevant documentation.
• Liaise directly with customers, suppliers and overseas agents to coordinate shipments and meet deadlines.
• Deal with customs entries, shipping documentation and resolve operational issues independently.
• Maintain regular communication with customers throughout the shipment process.
• Organise and manage your inbox, customer enquiries and workload efficiently.

Required profile

• Strong senior‑level experience in airfreight operations, with extensive knowledge of air imports and exports.
• Proven ability to manage shipments from start to finish and work completely independently.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and attention‑to‑detail skills.
• Professional telephone and email manner with strong customer‑service abilities.
• Experience preparing quotations and handling invoicing.
• Knowledge of the Sequoia system is advantageous.
