Alumni Officer – Global Alumni Network Management

About the role

The Alumni Officer will support the management of the global Chevening alumni network of approximately 57,000 members. Working with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and internal stakeholders, the role ensures high‑quality content, regular communications and effective database maintenance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice and tools to over 160 Embassies/High Commissions to engage local alumni and support new processes.
• Work with Communications teams to deliver a robust alumni communications strategy across newsletters, social media and the website.
• Monitor and update the alumni database and online platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn) to keep alumni informed and engaged.
• Coordinate annual online and face‑to‑face alumni events, career development schemes and the transition of scholars to alumni status.
• Support the Chevening Alumni Partnership Fund (CAPF) scheme, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
• Liaise with official alumni associations worldwide, maintaining records and encouraging self‑organisation of new groups.

Required profile

• Degree‑educated or equivalent experience with an understanding of international higher‑education students.
• Demonstrable commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Experience planning and organising small to medium‑scale events.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and databases.
