Application Modernisation Consultant – Mainframe to Cloud

About the role

TXP is seeking an experienced Application Modernisation Consultant to help organisations migrate legacy mainframe applications to modern platforms. You will work with proprietary migration tooling to analyse, convert and validate enterprise systems across public and private sector clients.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and assess legacy applications, primarily developed in Gen.
• Execute migrations using TXP’s automated conversion tooling.
• Support migration of applications to native COBOL environments (CICS, IMS‑DC, DB2) and modern platforms such as Java, Spring Boot.NET, Angular and cloud technologies.
• Define migration approaches for databases, online transactions, batch processing and user interfaces.
• Validate converted applications for quality, performance and functional equivalence.
• Collaborate with architects and technical teams to develop migration strategies and delivery roadmaps.
• Assist in proposals, statements of work and technical solution design.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of migration tooling and delivery methodologies.

Required profile

• Proven experience in application modernisation, migration or platform transformation projects.
• Hands‑on experience with mainframe technologies and tooling (COBOL, CICS, IMS‑DC, DB2, ISPF, SCLM, SPUFI, JCL).
• Familiarity with modern development stacks (Java, Spring Boot.NET, Angular, cloud‑native technologies).
• Experience with automation scripting and CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub).
