About the role
Are you a Psychology graduate looking to gain hands‑on experience supporting young people with ASD and additional needs? A specialist secondary school in Reading is seeking a caring and enthusiastic ASD Assistant.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to students with ASD.
- Support communication, emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
- Build positive relationships and encourage engagement in learning.
- Work alongside teachers and SEN staff to create a supportive environment.
- Monitor students' wellbeing, behaviour and progress.
Required profile
- Compassionate, patient and enthusiastic.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Genuine interest in ASD, SEN, psychology or education.
- Calm, positive and adaptable approach.
