Assistant Tax Manager – Birmingham

About the role

We are partnering with a Top 15 UK accountancy and advisory firm to hire an Assistant Tax Manager for their growing Birmingham tax team. The role offers a blend of personal and corporate tax work, supporting both compliance and advisory projects while providing a clear path to senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients, ensuring timely and accurate tax returns.
• Review tax filings and maintain high quality standards.
• Support junior staff with technical queries and professional development.
• Contribute to advisory assignments such as restructures, succession planning and tax planning.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Identify opportunities to add value and cross‑sell additional services.
• Collaborate with other service lines to deliver a seamless client experience.

Required profile

• Qualified or part‑qualified ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA (or nearing completion).
• Significant tax experience gained within an accountancy practice.
• Experience in personal and/or corporate tax compliance.
• Proven ability to review work and mentor junior team members.
