Assistant Textile Designer – London

About the role

TFG London, the house of brands behind Hobbs, is seeking an Assistant Designer to join the Hobbs Head Office team in London. The hybrid role reflects the company’s investment in design capability and its commitment to developing the next generation of talent within the fashion industry.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Senior Designer across the Hobbs Occasionwear department throughout the full design cycle, from concept to supplier hand‑over.
• Research emerging trends and product categories, conduct competitor analysis, and prepare design packs for manufacturers.
• Contribute to mood boards and trend presentations, ensuring the brand’s visual direction stays current.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a studio assistant covering all aspects of the design process.
• Strong drawing ability and a sharp awareness of emerging fashion trends.
• Confident communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator.
• Competence with CAD software.
