Associate Director - Construction Invoice Finance

About the role

The Associate Director – Construction Invoice Finance will lead a portfolio of around 40 SME invoice finance clients within the construction sector. Working in a hybrid model, you will balance risk control, client experience and sustainable income generation while contributing to the growth of Lloyds Banking Group’s specialist finance offering.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage portfolio risk by reviewing financial performance, collateral trends and client behaviour, taking timely action within policy and escalating issues with clear recommendations.
• Build and retain strong client relationships as the primary relationship owner, setting service expectations and conducting regular engagement, including face‑to‑face visits.
• Optimise income and portfolio value through disciplined pricing, full product utilisation and identification of incremental opportunities and referrals across Business and Commercial Banking.
• Ensure effective onboarding and transition from sales, underwriting new business within delegated authority and collaborating with stakeholders for compliant implementation.
• Operate with strong governance, adhering to delegated credit authorities and policies while contributing to continuous improvement of risk and control processes.
• Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and drive portfolio performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing SME invoice finance portfolios, preferably with turnover up to £25 million.
• Strong understanding of construction sector contracts and associated risk factors.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain senior client relationships.
• Excellent judgment in risk assessment and decision‑making within delegated authority.
• Willingness to work in a hybrid environment (minimum two days on site per week).
