Band 6 Specialist Speech & Language Therapist

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Camden Community Team within the Camden Neurology and Stroke Service. The role focuses on adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, delivering person‑centred assessment and rehabilitation in community settings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment and treatment for adults with neurological conditions, including stroke, progressive diseases and palliative presentations.
• Deliver therapy in patients’ homes, residential care homes and community clinics, using evidence‑based clinical reasoning.
• Manage a complex caseload independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to service development, quality improvement projects and clinical governance.
• Engage in continuous professional development and implement best‑practice guidelines.

Required profile

• Qualified Speech and Language Therapist, currently at Band 6 or experienced Band 5 seeking specialist development.
• Experience working with adults with acquired communication or swallowing difficulties.
• Ability to work flexibly across various community settings and travel by foot, public transport, motorcycle, bicycle or car.
• Commitment to person‑centred, goal‑oriented rehabilitation.
