Battery Engineer – Birmingham (B, WS & WV)

About the role

The Battery Engineer will carry out service and repairs to all battery equipment on customer sites, ensuring safety, professionalism and cost‑effectiveness while maintaining accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled service and maintenance jobs at client premises.
• Monitor and manage van stock to support daily fleet maintenance.
• Repair, inspect and quote customer battery equipment and accessories.
• Complete job sheets, timesheets and parts paperwork within required timescales.
• Diagnose faults to component level and ensure all tooling and equipment are safe for use.

Required profile

• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to achieve a grade C in English and maths at GCSE.
• Experience with health & safety requirements in a workshop environment.
• Strong organisational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of battery, charger and change systems.
• Proficiency in fault finding and repair.
• Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic engineering knowledge.
