BTL Mortgage Underwriter

About the role

We are partnering with a leading lender to expand their Buy‑to‑Let underwriting team. The successful candidate will assess complex BTL loan applications, manage risk, and ensure smooth drawdown of funds for borrowers.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with valuers, solicitors and intermediaries to gather necessary information.
• Verify that all files are complete, accurate and meet the lender’s criteria.
• Prepare and submit detailed credit papers for each BTL deal.
• Monitor the end‑to‑end progress of deals, ensuring timely and efficient processing.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience as a specialist mortgage underwriter, preferably in Buy‑to‑Let.
• Strong analytical and methodical thinking with the ability to take ownership of assignments.
• Professional communication style and a positive attitude.

• Mortgage underwriting expertise.
• Knowledge of lending criteria and risk assessment.
