Business Development Consultant

About the role

RMK Talent Solutions is seeking a Business Development Consultant to join an investment manager's sales team covering the South of England. The role blends remote work with field visits, focusing on expanding the reach of outsourced investment solutions to independent financial advisers (IFAs) and other intermediaries.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities within the intermediary and IFA sectors.
• Engage intermediaries through telephone outreach and face‑to‑face meetings to promote investment solutions.
• Build and maintain lasting relationships with financial advisers and key stakeholders.
• Present outsourced investment products, tailoring explanations to client needs.
• Achieve agreed sales targets and contribute to overall client‑base growth.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless client journey and high service standards.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in IFA sales with a track record of meeting targets.
• Knowledge of outsourced investment solutions and the intermediary market.
• Excellent communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and able to work independently within a supportive team.
• Desire to transition from telephone‑only sales to a hybrid field‑based role.
• Professional understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements.
