Business Development Manager – Banking Subscriptions

About the role

The Business Development Manager will join FT Specialist’s London subscription sales team, driving new corporate subscription sales for The Banker and The Banker Database. You will build relationships with prospective banking clients, identify opportunities and meet sales targets through face‑to‑face, virtual and telephone outreach.

Key responsibilities

• Present and sell FT Specialist’s banking products to prospective and existing clients.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and decision‑makers.
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to negotiation and close.
• Prepare presentations, proposals and contracts, and lead detailed sales discussions.
• Use marketing and customer data to identify opportunities and maintain an accurate sales pipeline.
• Represent FT Specialist at conferences and industry events to generate new business.

Required profile

• Proven experience selling into banking or broader financial services, with a strong track record in new‑business sales.
• Excellent persuasion, negotiation and commercial communication skills.
• Consultative sales approach with the ability to understand customer needs and articulate value.
• Strong relationship‑building, organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Resilient, proactive and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
