Business Development Manager – Employability

About the role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive employer engagement within the employability sector. You will work from our Manchester office, combining field visits with office collaboration to create job opportunities for unemployed individuals.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and engage new and existing local employers to source employment opportunities.
• Promote and sell tailored employer services, matching candidates to vacancies.
• Lead recruitment activities such as pre‑screening, group sessions and shortlisting.
• Analyse local labour market trends to target growth sectors.
• Maintain regular contact with employer accounts to secure repeat business.
• Achieve targets and KPIs while ensuring compliance with paperwork standards.

Required profile

• Proven B2B/employer engagement experience in the skills or employability sector.
• Strong understanding of the local employment market and trends.
• Track record of meeting sales or recruitment targets.
• Excellent communication, administrative and organisational abilities.
• Full, clean UK driving licence with access to a personal vehicle and flexibility to travel.
