Business Tax Manager

This is a key role within the Business and Corporate tax team, responsible for delivering a mix of compliance and tax advisory services to owner‑managed companies and larger international groups across various industries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of business tax clients, ensuring compliance, building relationships and identifying opportunities for Menzies to add value.
• Assist in training and managing the business tax team.
• Advise on succession planning, remuneration, capital expenditure timing and capital allowances.
• Support entrepreneurial businesses throughout their lifecycle, including IP protection, restructuring, international growth and shareholder value creation.
• Provide tax advice on equity incentive schemes such as EMI options.
• Network, prepare proposals and grow the corporate tax portfolio.
• Identify tax‑planning, risk‑mitigation and cross‑selling opportunities across service lines.
• Train and mentor junior colleagues and ensure adherence to technical, ethical, risk and compliance procedures.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant and/or CIOT‑qualified tax adviser with post‑qualified experience.
• Experience managing corporate and entrepreneurial clients at assistant‑manager or manager level.
• Strong corporate tax technical and practical knowledge, including issues affecting OMBs and shareholders.
• Good understanding of UK accounting standards and ability to interpret financial statements.
