Business Tourism and Projects Coordinator

About the role

The West Midlands Growth Company is seeking a proactive Business Tourism & Projects Coordinator to support the Visitor Economy team. You will help drive business tourism activity across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands, working closely with industry partners and the Business Tourism & Events team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in delivering programmes that attract meetings, conferences, exhibitions and other business events to the region.
• Coordinate strategic projects, exhibitions, sales missions, familiarisation visits and the Conference Ambassador Network.
• Provide operational support to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with organisational objectives.
• Build and maintain relationships with hotels, venues, tourism businesses, universities, local authorities and other stakeholders.
• Support partner engagement activities and business development initiatives.

Required profile

• Organised and proactive with a strong interest in business tourism and the visitor economy.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Motivation to develop a career in tourism, events or destination management.

Required skills

• Project coordination and administrative support.
• Experience with event planning or tourism initiatives (preferred but not mandatory).
