Carpentry & Joinery Lecturer

About the role

We are seeking experienced and enthusiastic Carpentry & Joinery Lecturers to deliver high‑quality teaching for further education providers in London. You will help learners develop practical woodworking skills, technical knowledge and industry‑standard practices, supporting them to achieve their career goals.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Carpentry & Joinery lessons across a range of levels.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Maintain accurate records in line with college requirements.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment and manage workshop safety.
• Support learners in developing practical woodworking, installation and finishing skills.
• Contribute to learner achievement, retention and progression.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Carpentry, Joinery, Construction or a related trade.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent).
• Experience teaching Carpentry & Joinery in further, higher or adult education.
• Strong classroom and workshop management skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.
