Catastrophic Loss Senior Associate

About the role

Our client, a nationally recognised law firm specialising in defendant insurance litigation, is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Catastrophic Injury team in Manchester. You will work on high‑value motor, employer’s liability and public liability claims involving life‑changing injuries and complex legal issues.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex catastrophic injury matters from inception to resolution.
• Handle high‑value motor, employer’s liability and public liability claims on behalf of insurer clients.
• Advise on liability, causation, quantum and overall litigation strategy.
• Collaborate with insurers, experts, counsel and other stakeholders.
• Support business development and nurture client relationships.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members where appropriate.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with extensive experience in defendant catastrophic injury litigation.
• Strong background in motor, employer’s liability and/or public liability claims.
• Proven ability to manage high‑value, complex injury matters and assess future loss quantification.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and technical legal skills.
• Effective client management and stakeholder engagement experience.
• Team‑oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively.
