Chef – Residential Care Home

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Chef to join our residential nursing care home, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health challenges. You will work full‑time, delivering nutritious and appealing meals for residents, staff and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve balanced meals in line with dietary requirements.
• Liaise with nursing staff to meet individual nutritional needs.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, service areas and dining room.
• Supervise kitchen staff when covering for the Head Chef.
• Ensure compliance with food hygiene standards and COSHH regulations.
• Complete required documentation, order food supplies within budget and maintain equipment.
• Develop or adapt menu plans as needed.

Required profile

• Experienced chef, preferably in the care sector.
• Basic food hygiene certificate and high personal hygiene standards.
• Professional, polite and positive attitude.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
