Chef Trainer / Assessor (Trainee or Qualified)

About the role

KM Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking a motivated Chef Trainer/Assessor to deliver culinary apprenticeship programmes across the West Midlands. The role is hybrid, combining online instruction, on‑site employer visits and classroom workshops.

Key responsibilities

• Train, assess and deliver Chef/Senior Culinary Apprenticeship qualifications up to Level 4.
• Provide online teaching, face‑to‑face site visits and workshop‑based chef training.
• Support learners in achieving Functional Skills Maths and English to Level 2.
• Manage your diary to ensure timely visits, reviews and documentation of learner progress.
• Motivate, advise and overcome barriers to learning, adapting delivery to individual needs.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef, with proven ability to cook from scratch.
• Confidence in supporting learners with Functional Skills.
• Excellent communication, organisational and time‑management skills.
• Professional, quality‑driven attitude with a willingness to go the extra mile.
• Full, clean UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle; flexible to travel.

• Starting salary £29,000 progressing to £30,000 plus bonus.
