Chemistry Lecturer – Temporary Assignment

About the role

We are recruiting experienced and enthusiastic Chemistry Lecturers for a range of well‑established Further Education providers in the South East of England. This temporary, agency‑assigned role offers flexibility and the chance to make a real impact on learners studying Chemistry across various programmes and levels.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality Chemistry lessons.
• Teach Chemistry to learners across a range of levels and abilities.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress.
• Provide constructive feedback and academic support.
• Maintain accurate records in line with college requirements.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Support practical laboratory sessions in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Contribute to learner achievement, retention and progression.

Required profile

• Relevant degree or qualification in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent).
• Experience teaching Chemistry within Further Education, Secondary Education, or Adult Learning environments.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying abilities.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for science education.
