Children's Home Residential Support Worker

About the role

This is a full‑time, live‑in position supporting an 11‑year‑old boy in a children’s residential home in Wallasey. You will provide daily personal care, emotional support and help develop life‑skills to promote a stable, loving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare breakfast, assist with dressing and school preparation, and accompany the child to school.
• Handle laundry, cooking dinner, bathing, and bedtime routines.
• Provide emotional support and encourage learning and personal development.
• Maintain a safe, nurturing home environment throughout day and night shifts.

Required profile

• Live within commuting distance of Wallasey.
• Full UK driving licence (own vehicle preferred).
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (or working towards it).
• Experience working in children’s homes or similar residential care settings.
• Male candidates preferred, but female applicants will also be considered.

What we offer

• Hourly rate £15.02 if you hold a Level 3 qualification, £13.49 if not.
• £60 per sleep‑in shift.
• 224 hours holiday per year, plus 2 extra days after two years of service.
