Civil Litigation Solicitor

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Civil Litigation Solicitor (or Legal Executive) with at least five years post‑qualification experience to join a growing law firm in Birmingham. You will work within a collaborative team handling a diverse range of civil and commercial disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of civil and commercial litigation matters, including consumer, landlord/tenant, debt recovery, partnership, contract, building and construction, and IP disputes.
• Prepare and conduct proceedings for possession claims and other civil actions.
• Work independently on most matters while receiving guidance from senior solicitors as required.
• Collaborate with experienced litigators and support staff across the firm’s multiple offices.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a minimum of five years PQE in civil litigation.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a broad caseload independently.
• Proactive, client‑focused and highly organised.
• Strong communication skills and commercial awareness.

Required skills

• Experience in handling consumer law, contractual disputes, landlord and tenant matters, debt recovery, partnership and commercial disputes, building and construction litigation, possession claims and intellectual property conflicts.
