Cleaner/Housekeeper – Permanent – Birmingham

About the role

We are looking for a permanent Cleaner/Housekeeper to join Amey’s facilities team supporting Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves delivering high‑quality cleaning and catering services across clinical and domestic areas.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cleaning duties in general and clinical areas – damp‑dusting, high‑dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping.
• Operate and use the automatic dishwasher and other cleaning equipment.
• Empty bins, replenish hand towels and maintain sanitary standards.
• Prepare and serve meals according to ward arrangements, ensuring cook‑chill product dates are valid.
• Clean tables and chairs before and after mealtimes.
• Uphold health & safety standards and support zero‑carbon initiatives.

Required profile

• Highly organised, responsible and detail‑oriented.
• Strong customer service attitude, friendly and approachable.
• Willingness to learn and support colleagues.
• Ability to recognise the importance of food hygiene and health & safety.
• Willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
