Client Accountant – Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)

About the role

We are seeking a Client Accountant to manage a portfolio of client accounts for a real‑estate focused finance team. The role is a three‑month contract, hybrid working (2 days in the Birmingham office, 3 days remote), and offers a day rate of £170‑£190.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑to‑day financial transactions for multiple client accounts.
• Perform reconciliations and ensure accurate management of client funds.
• Process payment runs in line with contractual deadlines.
• Prepare and support Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) processes, maintaining compliance.
• Allocate cash receipts, resolve account queries and produce monthly client accounts and financial reports.
• Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Assist with ad‑hoc finance projects and wider team initiatives.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Client Accountant, Property Accountant or similar finance role within the real‑estate sector.
• Demonstrable experience working with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
• Proven ability to manage client portfolios and stakeholder relationships.
• Part‑qualified (AAT, ACCA or CIMA) or equivalent experience.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
