Client Payroll Team Lead

About the role

IRIS Recruitment is seeking a Client Payroll Team Lead to join its Manchester office. This hybrid position will see you acting as the primary payroll expert for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll delivery while providing exceptional service.

Key responsibilities

• Process client payrolls accurately and on schedule.
• Serve as the main point of contact for payroll queries and issues.
• Maintain compliance with UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
• Produce payroll reports to support client decision‑making.
• Keep payroll records and employee data up to date.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies promptly.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enhance the client experience.
• Identify and propose improvements to processes and service delivery.

Required profile

• Proven experience in payroll processing, preferably within a payroll bureau or managed services environment.
• Ability to manage multiple client payrolls simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Outstanding customer service and communication abilities.
• Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
