Commercial Projects Solicitor (Infrastructure)

About the role

We are seeking a Commercial Projects Solicitor to join a leading international law firm’s Projects & Infrastructure team in Birmingham. The role will involve advising on high‑profile energy, infrastructure and defence projects across the UK and internationally, working with both public sector clients and private developers.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on procurement processes and project structuring for large‑scale infrastructure programmes.
• Negotiate and draft project agreements, including PPP/PFI contracts, PPAs, EPC and O&M agreements.
• Provide guidance on construction, development and operational arrangements.
• Collaborate with government clients, sponsors and developers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support business development activities and contribute to the team’s growth.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience in projects, infrastructure or related legal areas, preferably involving PPP/PFI, energy or defence sectors.
• Familiarity with UK public procurement processes (PCR) and, ideally, single‑source contracting (SSCR).
• Strong project management and organisational abilities.

• Operations & Maintenance (O&M) agreements.
