Communications Lead

About the role

Orbital Industries is seeking a Communications Lead to shape how the market perceives its AI‑Industrial category. You will define the brand voice, messaging framework and content strategy that convey the uniqueness of CurieOS and the company’s full‑lifecycle approach.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and own the external communications strategy, ensuring consistent brand voice across website, social, events and press.
• Craft messaging frameworks for CurieOS’s three pillars (Materials, Deployment, Hardware) and translate technical milestones into compelling narratives for investors, customers and talent.
• Produce long‑form content, thought‑leadership pieces, website copy and campaign assets while maintaining high editorial standards.
• Lead organic social strategy, set editorial calendar and align content with industry developments.
• Build and manage the press function, nurture media relationships and coordinate founder media appearances.
• Collaborate closely with the CFO, founders and GTM team to align investor messaging and campaign copy.

Required profile

• Significant leadership experience in communications, content or brand storytelling, preferably in a deep‑tech or science‑adjacent environment.
• Exceptional writing ability with a portfolio that demonstrates range across long‑form and short‑form messaging.
• Deep curiosity about AI, science and engineering, and the skill to make complex ideas accessible without oversimplifying.
• Proven track record of building or scaling a communications function from the ground up.
• High standards for brand consistency and the ability to spot and correct drift early.
• Strong collaborative instincts, able to influence technical founders and cross‑functional teams.
• Experience briefing and managing creative work such as design, video and freelance writers.
• Science degree or related background is preferred.
