Construction Agent – HS2 Main Works

About the role

Skanska is delivering the HS2 Main Works, a 26‑mile tunnel and associated infrastructure from London Euston to West Ruislip. As a Construction Agent you will lead the site team, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule and to the required quality.

Key responsibilities

• Manage, supervise, train and mentor the site team to optimise their contribution.
• Review contractual agreements and develop design, methods, programme and cost forecasts with the Construction Manager, General Foreman and subcontractors.
• Develop and monitor programmes and budgets, assess actual productivity, and report changes to the Project Manager and QS department.
• Maintain full knowledge of subcontractor contract conditions, develop job‑specific conditions and manage subcontractor accounts.
• Keep a detailed daily site diary covering variations, attendance and work‑related discussions.
• Ensure inspection and test plans, risk assessments and method statements are reviewed, approved and followed.

Required profile

• Degree level qualification in a Civil Engineering related subject or HND in Civil Engineering with vocational training.
• Understanding of engineering principles and construction contract law.
• Extensive technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices.
• Computer competence in MS Word, Excel, document control systems and Primavera software.
• Valid CSCS Card.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Experience with document control systems.
• Knowledge of Primavera scheduling software.
• Holding a valid CSCS Card.
