Consumer Regulatory Senior Associate (5+ PQE) – Birmingham

About the role

Join a leading international law firm’s Commercial team as a Consumer Regulatory Senior Associate. You will advise high‑profile retail, food, FMCG and hospitality clients on a wide range of consumer regulatory matters, working in a flexible hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide commercially focused advice on consumer protection, product compliance, safety, labeling, marketing, sustainability and green‑claims.
• Manage product risk, recalls and incident response, and liaise with regulators such as the CMA and Trading Standards.
• Support clients on complex UK and cross‑border regulatory issues.
• Supervise junior lawyers and help develop client relationships.
• Contribute to the growth and development of the consumer regulatory practice.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years PQE as a consumer regulatory solicitor in a recognised commercial or regulatory practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of consumer protection legislation, product compliance and regulatory risk management.
• Excellent drafting and communication skills, with a commercial mindset.
• Experience working with clients in retail, FMCG, food, hospitality or manufacturing is advantageous.
• Aspiring to progress towards Director level within a transparent career pathway.
