Eventus Legal are seeking a Contentious Probate Partner to join a leading law firm in Birmingham, West Midlands. This permanent role offers a market‑leading package and hybrid working with flexibility across the firm’s West Midlands offices. It is an exceptional opportunity for an established partner or senior lawyer to shape a growing specialism within a respected and ambitious firm.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop the contentious probate practice.
• Set strategic direction for the department and identify growth opportunities.
• Generate new instructions and strengthen referral relationships.
• Manage and supervise contentious probate matters from inception to resolution.
• Develop and mentor junior lawyers within the team.
• Collaborate with litigation and private client colleagues to maximise opportunities.
• Maintain and develop relationships with clients, referrers and professional contacts.
• Provide technical expertise on complex, high‑value contentious probate disputes.
• Manage an existing and growing caseload.
• Represent the firm through networking and business development activities.

Required profile

• Experienced Contentious Probate Partner or senior lawyer.
• At least 8 years post‑qualification experience.
• Ambition and commercial acumen to lead and grow the practice.
• Comfortable balancing leadership responsibilities with exceptional client service.
• Seeking greater autonomy and the ability to influence strategy.
• Ability to work in a supportive, collegiate environment.
