Corporate Tax Solicitor

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Corporate Tax Solicitor to join a leading international law firm’s Birmingham office. You will work within a collaborative tax team, advising a portfolio of UK and international clients on high‑value transactions and strategic tax matters.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, joint ventures, private equity investments and financing transactions.
• Support international tax issues, group reorganisations and broader strategic tax planning projects.
• Liaise closely with corporate, private equity, real estate and banking teams to deliver integrated advice.
• Prepare tax opinions, memos and documentation for complex, high‑value deals.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience (PQE) within a recognised corporate tax team.
• Demonstrated experience advising on transactional tax matters.
• Commercial awareness, strong technical knowledge and excellent communication skills.
• Experience in a national, international or highly regarded regional practice is desirable.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation.
• Understanding of cross‑border tax implications for M&A and financing transactions.
• Ability to interpret and apply tax law to complex commercial structures.
