Cost and Procurement Manager (Agile)

About the role

The Cost and Procurement Manager (Agile) will lead a suite of agile categories and workstreams for Santander UK, operating from Milton Keynes. The role sits at the heart of the bank’s cost‑to‑income agenda, driving strategic sourcing, cost transformation and supplier risk management across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end strategic procurement and sourcing activities across key categories, from demand shaping to contract execution, ensuring total cost of ownership and value‑for‑money.
• Support transformation programmes, including mergers, acquisitions and other strategic transactions, by conducting cost due diligence, synergy analysis and designing supplier integration or separation plans.
• Drive cost transformation initiatives to meet the bank’s cost‑to‑income targets and unlock value from the third‑party ecosystem.
• Manage supplier risk and regulatory compliance while delivering best value and maintaining alignment with Santander’s risk appetite.
• Provide analytical, commercial and strategic leadership to senior stakeholders, influencing decisions and ensuring optimal supplier performance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cost and procurement within a financial services environment.
• Strong analytical and commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex sourcing and cost‑management initiatives.
• Experience managing supplier ecosystems, integration, and separation in M&A contexts.
• Good understanding of risk, regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks.
