Cost Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Cost Engineer with a background in plant equipment, manufacturing or engineering to join a specialist valuation team. The role offers international exposure, full training and the flexibility to work from home across the UK while travelling to project sites as required.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site inspections of plant and equipment and perform desk‑based assessments.
• Prepare reinstatement cost reports and valuation documentation for clients and insurers.
• Collaborate with project teams, insurers and major clients on high‑value, complex projects.
• Travel across the UK and occasionally abroad to support valuation assignments.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with valuation standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience in cost estimation, project management or large‑scale construction/engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with plant equipment and its valuation.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Ability to work independently from a home‑based office while managing travel commitments.
