Counter Fraud Litigation Handler

About the role

We are seeking an experienced litigation lawyer to join our counter‑fraud team in Bolton. The role involves managing a caseload of litigated road‑traffic accident (RTA) fraud claims for a range of insurance clients, working closely with senior lawyers and fraud specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Run fraud cases from litigation through to resolution, handling linked and organised fraud, fraud rings and multi‑claimant investigations.
• Manage a diverse portfolio of suspected fraudulent claims including bogus passenger, staged accidents, low‑speed impacts, credit‑hire fraud and MIB cases.
• Conduct large‑scale data and evidence analysis, coordinate with multiple defendants and support intelligence‑led litigation strategies.
• Collaborate with lead lawyers and claims handlers to achieve commercially sound outcomes while adhering to client guidelines.

Required profile

• Experience in civil litigation claims handling or as a qualified legal file handler (ILEX, LPC or equivalent).
• Understanding of insurance litigation processes, indemnity principles and the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
• Strong analytical, advocacy and client‑care skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in time‑recording and billing systems and solid IT competence.
