Cover Supervisor – Secondary School (Barking)

About the role

We are seeking experienced Cover Supervisors to join a large secondary school in Barking and Dagenham from September 2026. You will work within a supportive team, delivering pre‑planned lessons and maintaining a positive learning environment for students.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Ensure students remain on task and engaged with their learning.
• Provide feedback to teaching staff after each lesson.
• Support the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school.
• Create a positive and productive classroom environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or within UK secondary school classrooms.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Confidence delivering lessons to groups of students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• A positive, energetic and adaptable approach.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required.
