Cover Supervisor – Secondary Schools

About the role

Spencer Clarke Group is partnering with several secondary schools in Preston that need reliable Cover Supervisors. In this role you will step into classrooms when teachers are absent, ensuring continuity of learning and a positive environment for pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Deliver pre‑prepared lesson materials and follow given instructions.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Keep pupils engaged, focused and on task throughout the lesson.
• Report on student progress, behaviour and any issues to teaching staff.

Required profile

• Strong communication and classroom management abilities.
• Confidence supervising secondary‑aged students.
• Calm, adaptable and professional demeanor in a classroom setting.
• Genuine interest in supporting young people’s education.
• Flexibility and reliability for short‑term and long‑term placements.
