Criminology Lead Teacher – Part-time (potential full-time)

About the role

Collingwood College is looking for an enthusiastic Criminology Lead Teacher to join its Humanities team. The role starts in September 2026 and is initially part‑time, with the possibility of moving to a full‑time contract for candidates who can also teach another Humanities subject.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery and development of the Criminology curriculum for KS4 and/or KS5.
• Plan lessons, assessments and monitor student progress to raise achievement.
• Inspire learners with engaging, research‑informed teaching that fosters a passion for criminological thinking.
• Contribute to the wider Humanities department and support colleagues.
• For full‑time consideration, teach an additional Humanities subject such as Sociology, History, Geography or RE.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching Criminology.
• Strong understanding of curriculum design and assessment requirements.
• Effective classroom practice and behaviour management skills.
• Collaborative and proactive approach to teaching and subject leadership.
